Tanika was the Deputy Ethnocultural Officer (as it was then known!) in 2018. During her time on the committee, she worked on the Colourism Campaign, the inaugural “Ethno Revue” and many social events such as DJ workshops and food centred events. She also successfully advocated for being able to defer or change exams if they fell on a major cultural or religious holiday. After graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Bachelor of Asian Studies (Honours) double degree, she commenced working at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as a graduate. She is immensely proud to see the work of the department continue. It truly shaped her experience at uni, finding a safe space and many dearly cherished friendships.
