BIPOC x Indigenous Department: Screen Printing

Join us for a powerful collaboration between the Indigenous and BIPOC Departments to screen print T-shirts that say “Land Back. From the rivers to the seas.”

Day: Monday 12th @ 5PM - 7PM
Location: ANUSA Balcony
What to bring: Plain white T-shirt.

We will also provide T-shirts but we recommend bringing your own. If you would like a complimentary white t-shirt to screen print the design on please fill this Expression of Interest Form by Saturday 10th Feb 5PM. https://forms.gle/3fYNhhCZV6xyG9iq9

The design has been created by the Indigenous Deputy Officer. “Land Back” because we stand in solidarity with both Palestinian and Indigenous people. “From the rivers to the seas” because “rivers” plural is used by us Wiradjuri as a reference to the meaning “of the three rivers”.

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free. Always was, always will be.

The ANU BIPOC Department and Indigenous Department acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands across Country. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands that we operate on and which we will be meeting on, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples. We pay our respects to Elders past and present who shall forever be part of the lands, skies, and rivers of this place. We acknowledge that this land was stolen and sovereignty was never ceded.

Palestinians in Gaza suffer the atrocities of a genocide, but we must never forget that our First Peoples on these lands continue to suffer at the hands of Australia's colonial government. When we speak of Palestinian freedom we must also demand for Indigenous sovereignty.
