Linocut Printmaking Workshop
Join Sweet and Sour Zine and the ANU BIPOC Department in an exciting linocut printmaking workshop to make your own unique and striking print designs! All tools and materials will be provided, as well and snacks and drinks for free.
The workshop will take place on Friday October 2nd from 5.30pm – 8.30pm at AMBUSH Gallery in Kambri (Building 153, Cultural Centre Level 2). There are only 20 spots available, so make sure you register by grabbing a ticket!
What is a linocut?
A design is drawn onto a piece of lino, which is like a thick piece of vinyl. Using special cutting tools, the design is carved into the lino. Ink is applied to the top surface and printed like a stamp. You can then reproduce this design as many times as you want.
I don’t draw and have never made a linocut before, can I attend the workshop?
Absolutely! The workshop is suitable for all abilities and you don’t need any experience to participate, just enthusiasm to create something cool. Experienced printmakers will also be there to help you out.
THIS EVENT IS AUTONOMOUS TO THOSE WHO IDENTIFY AS BLA(C)K, INDIGENOUS AND/OR PEOPLE OF COLOUR.
