Join the ranks of the most badass DJ's in Canberra!!!

If you have ever been interested in learning how to mix tracks, use decks, and pump up a crowd then this workshop if for you!

Over the course of the afternoon you will learn basic vital skills from a selection of extremely talented DJs. They will teach you the basics of looping, beat matching, how to vibe a crowd and how to make it as a paid professional!

This workshop is the start of a series of sessions which aim to have everyone who attends able to play their own seamless set by the end. Other sessions will include open deck daytime sets where you'll be able to practice your skills learned in the workshop on the decks with one of our talented DJ mentors helping you throughout. Before a final session where you will have the opportunity to play your own set to a welcoming crowd at a party during ethnocultural week!

This first workshop is essential to go to if you want to be a part of this excellent training opportunity. There will be some food provided and good vibes all round. Spaces are limited so if you sign up please make sure you can actually attend!

Please be aware this is an autonomous event for people who identify as Ethnocultural. We define ‘Ethnocultural’ as students who self-identify as being from a minority racial or ethnic origin, who come together with a common experience of facing systemic racism. This definition includes, but it is not strictly limited to: mixed-race or bi-racial people, people who are white-passing (i.e. are perceived to be white due to skin colour and other identifying features), and are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

This is an autonomous event.

We acknowledge that this event will be taking place on Ngunnawal land, and that sovereignty of that land was never ceded.

Woroni is committed to making all of our 2018 events inclusive and accessible. The Woroni Office is an accessible venue, with accessible parking across the road near Toad Hall and an accessible unisex bathroom in the Woroni Office.
