Zenia was BIPOC Officer in 2020, and oversaw the re-structure of the Department, advocated for anti-racism training in residential halls and staff faculties, and pushed for the acknowledgement of and action against ANU’s colonial structures (including the statute of Winston Churchill on campus). Her experience in the Department led her to pursue racial and economic organising with Democracy in Colour, working on issues such as the 2023 Voice to Parliament Referendum and the 2024 Migration Amendment Bill. She now studies law and works at a specialist community legal centre for migrant/ refugee women.
