Kendo for Women of Colour

Kendo literally means ‘The Way of the Sword’ (Ken: sword + Do: way). Kendo is one of Japan’s oldest martial arts, and the one most closely associated with the Samurai. The concept of kendo is to discipline the human spirit through the principles of the katana (Japanese sword). The ANU Kendo Club is the only kendo club in the ACT, and will be demonstrating and hosting a beginners class for women of colour.

To bring this event to you we've teamed up with ANU Sport to provide increased opportunities for women (living both on and off campus) to participate and engage in sport, health and fitness at the university.

We want to work together to eliminate existing barriers that may currently prevent or restrict women, particularly women of colour, from participating in sports at the gym, and this is just a first step towards opening more opportunities for you!

This event is free, however spaces are limited so please sign up here: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/.../kendo-for-women-of...
