SAFE SCENES: OPENING NIGHT

*Non-Autonomous*
We have a very exciting exhibition lined up in September so come down to Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres (F-Block) to join us for our opening night of our SAFE SCENES gallery.

Early bird tickets start 15th of Aug 5:30PM and close 22nd of Aug 5:30PM.

This year, the ANU BIPOC Deptment has campaigned to secure a physical, autonomous safe space for all Bla(c)k, Indigenous, People of Colour (BIPOC) students on campus. In addition to this campaign, we have collected submission pieces from BIPOC students to showcase their work in a gallery exhibition under the theme of "SAFE SCENES". This gallery exhibition incorporates a number of projects to showcase BIPOC creatives in conjunction with our demands for a physical, autonomous safe space for BIPOC Students on ANU Campus, in response to the accounts of racism faced on campus. The theme of SAFE SCENES is an amalgamation of what a Safe Space represents and means to BIPOC.

SAFE SCENES is proudly supported by Arts Capital at Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres & Rewind Photo Lab.

We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. We welcome all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to our Collective and we commit to standing with our First Nations people.
