Summary of Advocacy Officer 2026:

This year, I have organised 2 panels - one on diversity in industry, and one on queerxbipoc identity. I have also co-designed 2 publications: the BIPOC Homecoming Zine and the 5th Edition Racism Report, including promoting the survey for this report. I have run various social events, including BIPOC Talks (theme - homecoming), Scrapbook and Sip, Paint and Sip, and others. I have also helped at various events, such as setting up for BIPOC Ball. I have designed a re-introduction to ‘what is BIPOC’ as a resource for continuing department use and distribution.

Publicity Report

I’ve only joined this semester so I dont really have much except for making sure all the posts are up and design and necessary graphics. But I want to thank Aria and Minthy for helping me with the graphics for racism report. It’s really alot of help as I’ve been busy with assignments last week and this week. Thank you

Web Designer Report

All the minutes should be up now!

I'll make the 2027 page and stuff ready to be published, I’ve started but have not finished

In terms of what I've been doing this year:

Nothing major, mostly keeping up to date with the event (posting them), updating minutes. I'm still making the definitions page (taking sm longer than expected but will be done before my term is over), in the future, I think a finance page section could be good, but I need good communication with the treasurer. Pictures are on the website; added what BIPOC is and memberships etc.; hosted paint and scrap; study sess

BASC Rep Report

  • - Held Black x Blac potluck

  • - helped out BIPOC in other ways, ball, graphics, etc

Postgrad Rep Report

AGM agenda items

  • Reengaged Postgraduate cohort successfully

  • Planned a coheld event with ANUPSA see if they want to be more involved

  • Report:

  • Potluck tonight!

  • Beginning planning for intersectional study sessions!

First Year Rep Report

This year I mainly focused on learning about what we do as a department and getting familiar with the BIPOC base. I think it helped that I hosted a few different events i.e., a scrapbook and sip, chai and chats, and a karaoke event. It was also pretty good to help out during bushweek. This was super helpful to get a taste of event coordination, engaging with students and so on. I really liked working on the Zine, semester 1 panel, and racism report. It was good to figure out how to contribute to major events in the year and actually know what those yearly events are.

  • I would have liked to learn more about venue booking and EOF forms/applications which I kind of hesitated to give a go because of lack of experience. I think I can look forward to another year with BIPOC and better engaging with everything we do and being a little more confident in my abilities
