The ANU BIPOC Department acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples, and pays respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging.

BIPOC Officer Report

Debrief with ANUSA president this morning about the response received from the deputy VC about the racism report response. 

• Response was not great; they have not gotten back to us about the meeting. Charlie will schedule a meeting for us with the deputy VC.

• Emma and Aeneya will send back a response for the deputy VC about racism report. It will be nice to reword and rephrase the report to best engage with the VC before sending it off.

• Survey question about racism report has been set out, received feedback from contact and ANUSA legal about 

• Will not seek the ethics committee from them as it takes too long

• Princess said bc we not reaching out to committee will we get any repercussions?

• Anenya response no, as it more of a research in academia rather than general survey. 

• Ariq is not at the meeting so the discussion about finances was not discussed

• Exec, please share the calendar and events going out, so we can get higher attendance and continue funding for our events.

• SCR motion happening for next week has been submitted, rewording the response about BIPOC racism report.

• Refugee Action Protest Motion

Sent over email about venues, Anenya and BIPOC dept has been CC'd on it.#

• Gang gang and 122 have responded, but not our top choices, not a lot of available dates

• No response with Shadow. Maybe get in contact in person  

• Princess said Shadow's phone number can ask the hall or social rep about Shadow, as they have phone contact for the manager

• 122 will be preferred as a closer location

• Preferred date not set

• Should we ask for EOIS even though there is no set date?

• Anenya responded by maybe starting a mood board on Pinterest for the party.

• The theme reveals TikTok when the time and date are set. Suggested by Princess

• What day would be best for the sem 1 party? Friday or Saturday?

• Maybe Thursday, Friday or Saturday. 

• The date has been set from week 8 to 9. 

• Received communication on a lower effort event, like a study session, has been a brainstorming event

• Will post the calendar for the event at the end of the week for the semester

• Movie night, BIPOC Talks.

• Kabb talked to Anuki about the DJ event. Emma will get Stella and Amber for the event?

• BIPOC Instagram page poetry tmr about art music, so get in Vanuki.

• Potentially create anonymous feedback links for event feedback?

• Anenya said we have older feedback links, but we can repost and revamp them for newer feedback.

• Movie night for IDERD at 6 pm, watching Get Out. 

• Anenya will do the purchase for movie night, and we will be getting crust. 

• Sunday rally, do we want to do a walkover and publish? Sunday 29th for refugee.

• After the first year is elective is done, all the new exec members will have an intro part about themselves and post them, and Minthy can publish them on the website. 

• Anenya ask if Minthy could look into ZAPIER for an automated email response for responding to all access forms and suggestions from the website.
