Acknowledgement of Country

The ANU BIPOC Department acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples, and pays respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging.

BIPOC Officer Report

Anenya thanks everyone for the BIPOC ball, the Indigenous department, performers, and everyone in the committee. 

• We need to do a ball clean-up during the break. Cleaning up BIPOC base.

• Graphic for Ball recap needs to be done

• We are moving a motion with ANUSA about the Poster policy. 

• Anenya stated the motion we are pushing, especially with past vandalism of our freedom of political speech. 

• Interhall bipoc officer meeting tomorrow 

• Racism report will leave it open until next week and when they open the ANUSA newsletter so that we can get more response.

• Still organising a handover between Marana and Purvi. 

• Please, everyone, send Anenya the receipts and invoices for reimbursement. 

• We can't reimburse anyone yet until we move Ariq out and Purvi and Marana in. 

• Talked about the  BIPOC ball alcoholic payment

Bingo at Dollies tomorrow; tell everyone to join; we have booked a table for 20 people. 

• Everyone, please look at the event calendar for the next week to see what is happening, and people can volunteer for what is happening. 

• Monthly asked questions: the tapestry of culture with VSA and other societies, if we want to be involved. 

• Stella responds that Minthy needs to send Stella the information. 

• We also have movie night Thursday as well.

Advocacy Report

Have written questions for possible advocacy-themed BIPOC talks. 

• We can do that for week 8 Wednesday. Before the collective meeting.

Publicity Report

Ball recap post/ reel, is everyone ok with reel? 

• No need to update the meeting graphic. 

• Want to do a 2026 Instagram highlight. 

• Happy to help the new publicity officer and keep as a co-role

• Aria gave a health update; cannot do much active work in the department.

BASC Rep Report

Black x Blak Potluck moved to after the break ( this will be an autonomous event)

• Aria will send out a when to meet, and Aria will make food YIPPEEEE!!!!

• Will plan more events after mid sem break because of exams etc

Postgrad Rep Report

Giving people updates on what Post grad event is happening. 

• PACIFICA student association collaboration because they have a big Post-grad population. 

• Post-grad engagement with queer department. 

• Post-grad joint study session. 

• Chai making workshop with post-grad students. 

• Post-grad potluck, maybe with PACIFICA student association. 

• A lot of ideas; would love ideas.
